What is "Water for Ease"?

Accessing that which is within us for our healing.
— ÉEZ

“AND WATER FOR EASE,” spoke Grandmother Sangoma, as prayer was made towards the direction West,

as water was poured onto the (grandfather) rocks, that sat and simmered in fire for hours (to be ready to offer the purification of this practice)—

and as we, the wild darlings, breathed deeply— receiving and emanating prayer… seeping into surrender… within the womb of this sweat lodge ceremony.

This would be my first sweat lodge experience— late summer of 2019, upstate New York… (and many, many more would come from this Beginning.)

Prayer, breath, song, and community are the foundations of the practice. And, of all the prayers spoken, for some reason this one, “and water for ease,”

this one stayed with me, in a way that the other words uttered didn’t.

Perhaps Surely,

speaking to the water in me- that needed to be spoken to- to be tended to. “Water for Ease,” speaking to the water in the steam filling the air, purifying our beings, during this time of honoring and utilizing the power of the elements. Speaking to this merging between nature and self. (Reminding us that this communion :nature|being: is our birthrite!)

Speaking to the Ease within Us, and Our Ability to Self-soothe. Accessing that which is within us for our healing.

Water for Ease.

I put it on my left arm.

(within.

each.

breath.)

water for ease

It became a mantra… a source of soothing and empowerment, simultaneously.

This space (this site) is meant for all of that, as well as an out-loud, ongoing declaration of Allowing Self To Be Seen… of continuing to Allow Self to Water Self (and the many selves)…

a Space of Continuing!

a Space for Nectar to Flow, right here, where we are.

Asé!

[And, my initials happen to be ÉEZ (ease), so that’s fun. I embrace the synchronicities.]

*That’s a little glimpse of the story behind the name.

Thank you for Listening & for Being With me.
